You say…

You say its gonna happen; why not just do it today.

you say you love me; just show me

you say you dont want to be with anyone else; but you dont treat me right

you say you want this to work; then why  arent you making it work

you say a lot of things to keep me here; but its not enough

Actions speak louder than words.

new beginnings

Dear Tumblr,

I havent written in a while, things have been really confusing in my life and I still havent fully sorted it out… i think blogging again might help me find that clarity i am looking for. Life is just harder than anyone ever tells you. No one prepped me for the unpredictability and lack of balance that happens. Some people have good things, and the bad, well it just seems to be happenstance.

In session today a student that we nicknamed amelia bedelia (whom i love) (nicknamed because she tries so hard and things just dont go right for her), said some profound thoughts that I wanted to share here.

1. life is hard. Its just easier to think negatively about myself than positively. It takes so much effort to see the good when the bad is all over the place.

2. Its so hard trying to be like everyone else but myself just doesnt seem good enough

3. I guess you just have to work on yourself enough to be happy with yourself in order to be in a relationships.

This young lady is 14. Well said Amelia :)

Things really do come back in style

I was shocked. This morning a student walked into my office in TRICOLORED LOAFERS. See link http://www.google.com/search?q=tricolor+loafers&hl=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=QaR4TrCkN4fg0QGe_-nlCw&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CCIQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=653

The reason I was shocked was because in 3rd grade, after years of wearing Velcro sneakers I begged my mother to take me for slip on shoes. She took me to payless and I got a pair of loafers. They were sooo cool because they we tricolored. Of course I still got bullied because they were not the cool shoes. But i didnt care and I will remember these shoes forever. I might even still have them. Thus seeing them 15 years later back in style on a cool girl. Just makes me think. Was I cool at age 8 and I didnt know it?

That was the worst thing about having a relationship with someone, even a pretend relationship. You opened up, let someone in, and when it was over, they had all the ammunition they needed to completely destroy you.
